Just Magnolia..

I've decided to step down from the Just Magnolia DT. It has been such a hard decision to make because I love working with the JM DT girls, but I didn't enjoy working with the Magnolia stamps every week anymore.
I just miss working with other stamps I love, I didn't seem to have time to work with those anymore.

I really REALLY enjoyed working with the JM DT, they are all amazing, very talented and super sweet.
I will miss you girls and all of the fun chatter going on on the DT forum.
I'll keep visiting your blogs to see all of the fabulous things you create.

Take care girls, I hope you'll all keep in touch.

Big hugs,

xxxx

Just Magnolia #16 - Distressing

This week our sponsor is Jacobi Drachten

a7 jacobi[3]_thumb

and they are offering this fabulous prize of 4 adorable stamps:

Untitled-1

We have another nice easy challenge for you this week - distressing, so lets get dirty lol. We want to see some inking, sandpapering, scrunching you name it as long as your creation has a Magnolia image on and some distressing.

I don't distress much, so whenever I have to do distressing on a card I'm terrified I'll mess things up, lol.

Well this time I had a blast creating a card with distressing! Inking, scrunching, tearing, you name it, I did it! I even stamped with some bubble wrap and stamped a border around the adorable Tilda image using my fingerprint! Yeah, I did look like a criminal that had been fingerprinted (and I still haven't gotten all the ink off of my fingers), but I had FUN!!

It was fun trying something a little different and it was the first time I've coloured an image in black & white and I had a BLAST!! Fun, fun, fun!

I used the sketch from 'Everybody Art Challenge'. Love all the layers! And I'm also entering this card into the 'Simon Says Stamp' challenge blog which also is distressing! (Love combining challenges ;o) )

I hope a lot of you will join us again this week.

It's Friday, and that means it's time for another Just Magnolia challenge!

This week our sponsor is
Hobbycompleet "De Duif " and they have supplied us with this fabulous prize:

Untitled-2_thumb
The challenge this week is BUTTONS. So any project that has a Magnolia image and buttons will qualify for the prize draw.

For my card I used the paperbag that the sweet and extremely talented Rach sent me (thanks again sweetie xx).
The layout I used for the front of my card is last weeks 'Friday Sketchers' sketch.

For the layout on the inside I used the 'Sketch Saturday' sketch.

I loved creating this card, it was a lot of fun and it's great to put a little gift in and send off to a friend.
I did keep the card quite simple because I didn't have a lot of time.
Did you see the gorgeous paperbag cards my fellow DT members made for the monthly challenge blog? The special monthly challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp for a whopping $50 is currently running over on the
Just Magnolia Monthly Challenges blog, go and check it out for a chance to win this fabulous prize!

---
I wanted to thank everyone who has been asking about my little girl, it really means a lot to me and is very much appreciated.
Last friday we had to go back to the hospital and she got a new cast on her leg because they found out she has a hairline fracture just below her knee. She'll have to keep the cast on for another two weeks and then it will (hopefully) be healed.
She did learn how to stand with the plaster on and now she can walk around a little, she's so happy about that and so am I, cuz carrying her around all the time was killing my back, lol.

She loves the colour of her new plastered leg:

All pretty in pink!

Stamps: Magnolia

Embellishments: Gems; Melissa Francess, Rub on; Melissa Francess, Buttons; Stash

Just Magnolia #12 - So charming..

The challenge this week is So Charming - we want to see some charms on your creations so dig your metal out and get creative!
This week our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp who have kindly offered a $25 voucher to spend in their store!!

Here's my
Just Magnolia card for this week and it's a gatefold card! I saw the Roses on Paper challenge yesterday and decided to enter. It's my first gatefold card and it was a lot of fun, will do it again for sure!

I'm also entering this card into the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog, don't you just love combining challenges? ;o)

When I made the card last night I forgot to add the faux stitching (doh) so I did the stitching today. The first picture is one I took yesterday and the second is a picture that I took today. The colours on the pics look intirely different, freaky huh? Now, I know I ain't the worlds best photographer, but this is really weird, right? Guess it has something to do with the sunlight.
The stamp I used is a Magnolia stamp that I bought recently, I love that cupcake, really looks good enough to eat, don't ya think? ;o)

I've kept the card quite simple cuz I didn't have much crafting time the past week, my little girl has been sick so she really needed her mommy! Fortunately she's (finally) starting to feel better and I'll have more time on my hands.

Recipe: Papers: Bazzil Cardstock, Basic Grey Bittersweet paperpad
Stamps: Magnolia
Colour medium: Copic Sketch Markers
Embellishments: Gems; Melissa Francess, Pearl brads; Papermania, The charm I got from Rach and the jumprings from Bev, thx so much girls! xx
Tools: Nestabillities; Spellbinders

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend,

xx

Just Magnolia #11 Bev's sketch

Sorry I'm so late with today's posting of my Just Magnolia card.

I've just been so sad today because of the news about Michael Jackson. The devastating news of his death really hit me hard and I've just been heart broken all day. The world lost a true icon, a legend, there isn't and there never will be someone like him ever again. He has touched so many lives with his music and he has been such an inspiration to a lot of artist out there including my DH. He will be greatly missed. May your soul rest in peace dear Michael, you will never ever be forgotten..

My heart goes out to his children, his family and friends and the millions and millions of fans out there.

"In a world filled with hate, we must still dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.”~ Michael Jackson

On to todays card..,

For this weeks Just Magnolia card we got to work with a sketch designed by the talented Bev. I loved working with this sketch, it's brilliant.

This weeks sponsor is 'The Cutting Cafe'.

Just Magnolia Monthly Challenge #1

609storeheader

As promised, we're back with our first Simon Says Stamp monthly challenge! We are so excited - this has been in the planning for weeks and weeks and today's the day we get to show our creations to you all! Heidi from Simon Says Stamp has very generously agreed to sponsor this monthly challenge and the prize is .........

Now, because this is a special challenge with an extra special prize the theme is a bit more challenging but we know you can all do it! This month the challenge is to alter a container.

When I read we were going to do this challenge I was going to duck out. I've never altered something like this and I didn't think I could do it. When I told my DH last sunday he said I should do it and he was confident that I could do it (no one believes in me like he does), so I started altering this little wooden box, didn't have a lot of time to finish it, but I managed.
I didn't have any pearls that matched so I coloured them with my Copics, I sprayed the lace, roses & white Prima flowers with glimmer mist 'old lace'.

Here's my altered container, (please go easy on me, lol):

Recipe:

Papers: DCWV; Luxury stack
Stamps: Magnolia
Colour medium: Copic Sketch Markers
Embellishments: Say it in Crystals & Flowers; Prima, Glimmer mist; Tattered Angels, Pearls; Kaiser kraft, Roses, Lace; Stash

Thank you for looking,

xx

Now, on to my card ;o)
I have to warn you, you might want to grab your sun glasses for his one, lol. I'm sooo ready for summer!!
For my card I used the gorgeous background stamp from the 'chasing butterflies' collection as the main image, and coloured it with my copics.
I've cut some flowers out of the DP I used and combined them with punched flowers. I embossed the punched flowers with a Cuttlebug embossing folder that I first inked with some red ink so they wouldn't be to plain.

Hope you like my card and have fun with this weeks sketch!
